African Journal of Horticultural Science is be a peer-reviewed journal of the Horticultural Association of Kenya (HAK) focusing on horticultural research, science, technology and development in the Third World in particular and in the Whole World in general. It emphasizes progress in discovery, innovation, basic and applied sciences and technology that drive progress and development in horticulture. The scope of journal is broad, covering all horticultural aspects impinging on humanity such as: applied and basic sciences in agriculture, biotechnology, economics, education, extension, engineering, environment, marketing, policy, sociology and technology.

African Journal of Horticultural Science shall seek to be incorporated into the international network of scientific journals and abstracted in Current Contents, Agricola, Biosis, as well as other journals. Thus papers published in AJHS shall be integrated into the world body of scientific literature.
